Join Our Volunteer Team – Your Support Makes a Difference!

At the Valley Royals Track & Field Club, we are a community made stronger by the support of our volunteers. We believe that when we come together, we create a nurturing environment where our athletes can grow, compete, and succeed. Your time and energy help us provide the best possible experience for our young athletes.

Why Volunteering Matters

Volunteering with the Valley Royals is more than just fulfilling a requirement—it’s an opportunity to be part of something bigger! Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, assisting with events, or helping behind the scenes, your involvement strengthens our club and supports the athletic journey of every member. Plus, it’s a great way to stay connected to your child’s sport and build lasting friendships in the community.

Volunteer Hour Requirements

To keep things fair and balanced, we ask families to contribute volunteer hours based on their athlete’s program. Here’s how it works:

Junior Development (Ages 8-13)

  • Full Year Membership: 12 hours annually
  • Track & Field Season Only: 8 hours annually
  • Cross Country Season Only: 4 hours annually

U16 Athletes (Ages 14-15)

  • Full Year Membership: 15 hours annually
  • January to July Only: 10 hours annually
  • Fall Season Only: 5 hours annually

U18, U20, Senior Athletes (Ages 16+)

  • Full Year Membership: 15 hours annually
  • January to July Only: 10 hours annually
  • Fall Season Only: 5 hours annually

High School Introductory Special (June/July for New Members): 4 hours

University/College Athletes

  • Full Year: 4 hours annually
  • January to July: 2 hours annually
  • May to August (Past Members Only): 2 hours
  • Fall Season Only: 2 hours

Masters Athletes (Ages 35+)

  • Full Year Membership: 10 hours annually

Families with Multiple Athletes

For families with more than one athlete, we’ve made sure the hours are fair. The primary athlete (with the highest volunteer hour requirement) will fulfill their hours, and for each additional athlete, it’s:

  • Full Year Membership: 5 additional hours
  • Single Season Membership: 3 additional hours

Volunteer Deposit

To help ensure that our volunteer requirements are met, we ask for a post-dated cheque of $200, dated November 30th of the current year. This cheque will only be cashed if the volunteer hours are not completed within the calendar year. For families with multiple athletes, please add $50 per additional athlete to the cheque total. If you prefer to pay by credit card, no deposit cheque is required; instead, your card will only be charged if volunteer hours are not met.

Ways to Get Involved

There are so many rewarding ways to help out, whether you’re someone who enjoys the hustle of event days or prefers helping out behind the scenes. Here are just a few ways you can make a big impact:

  • Track Meet Support – Help with timing, recording results, or setting up equipment.
  • Event Organization – Lend a hand with planning and running fundraisers and socials.
  • Uniform & Equipment Assistance – Help distribute team gear and maintain our equipment.
  • Photography & Social Media – Capture moments and share our athletes’ achievements.
  • Facility & Equipment Maintenance – Assist with setup, takedown, and upkeep.
  • Committee & Board Roles – Share your skills in administration, fundraising, or sponsorship development.
